| AUTO INSURANCE |

Auto Insurance: provides protection for you against financial loss if you have an accident. It is a contract between you and the insurance company. You agree to pay the premium and the insurance company agrees to pay your losses as defined in your policy.
Available Coverages: Liability is required for vehicle registrations in California.
If your vehicle is collateral for a loan, you will also be required by the financial institution to carry comprehensive and collision coverage.
- Bodily Injury Liability — pays for injuries the insured driver causes to somebody else. There are different limits to select from. It is important to consider higher limits, especially when the insured has assets to protect (home, savings, future earnings potential).
- Property Damage Liability — pays for damage the insured driver causes to somebody else's property. In most instances it is damage to another vehicle, but this can also include damage to any object owned by another that is directly damaged by the insured driver, such as trees, buildings, fencing and so on.
- Uninsured Motorist/Underinsured Motorist Bodily Injury — pays for medical expenses, lost wages, and other general damages when policyholders, authorized drivers, or passengers are injured in an accident caused by a driver who has no auto insurance coverage or insufficient auto insurance coverage. Covered costs for underinsured motorist bodily injury coverage are typically the difference between your coverage and the other driver's bodily injury coverage.
- Medical Expense — pays for treatment of injuries to the driver and passengers of the policyholder's car, without regard to fault. This coverage can also help pay for items not covered by your health plan, such as ambulance, dental treatment, professional nursing services, prostheses, and funeral services.
- Comprehensive, also known as Other Than Collision — provides for damage to the policyholder's car that doesn't involve a collision with another car or object. Covered risks include fire, theft, falling objects, missiles, explosion, flood, riot and civil commotion.
- Collision — pays for damage to the policyholder's car that involves colliding with another object or upset.
- Rental Car — provides reimbursement for the costs of renting a vehicle from a qualified rental agency while the policy vehicle is being repaired following a coverage collision or comprehensive loss.
- Auto Loan/Lease Coverage, also known as Gap Coverage — Provides coverage for the difference between the actual cash value of the automobile and outstanding loan or lease value on a new car. This is only available for new cars.
