Another convenience that is now more readily available on auto policies is roadside assistance. Roadside assistance is there if you lock you keys in your car, provides towing if your car dies while on the road, offers jump starts if your battery dies, and assistance if you suddenly have a flat tire among other things. Most insurers now offer roadside assistance as a coverage included with your other auto insurance coverages. So instead of purchasing another roadside assistance membership, your policy may actually already provide this for you. Some companies have a nominal premium that is less than a membership to a “club”. Others, like Mercury Insurance and MetLife Auto & Home include this coverage on vehicles insured with collision.
How does this work? You just contact your insurer’s toll-free claim number on your identification cards and they will find and dispatch a tow company to you.
Before you join a “club”, or if you are not sure if you have this coverage, contact our office and we will see if your policy provides this for you. Not with Neighbors Plus Insurance Services? Call our auto insurance experts at (562)627-1961 for a quote.
