John started Neighbors Plus Insurance Services in 2005 with the desire to be the “local insurance agent” for the East Long Beach area. Prior to starting the agency, John had worked in the underwriting departments at Mercury Insurance Group for 23 years, managing an underwriting team that issued and serviced policies in California, Virginia and New York. During those years, he also attained his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation, requiring many hours of study in the many aspects of insurance products and operations.

Gene joined Neighbors Plus Insurance Services in 2006, after many years in sales and service in the wheel and tire industry. This background has given him the strong customer service skills he possesses. Gene continues to concentrate his efforts at Neighbors Plus Insurance Services on client relations and helping our insureds to fully understand their coverages and how to save more on their insurance budgets.
